Mayoral candidate Cynthia Block today unveiled her plan for business and economic development. The plan seeks to create a thriving Saskatoon that attracts businesses, creates jobs, and strengthens the unique fabric of our community. The plan will focus on accelerating opportunities with Indigenous leadership and newcomers, while enriching the lives of all residents. Block’s plan prioritizes collaboration, innovation, and providing a competitive edge for local businesses.

Local business leaders are already rallying behind Block’s vision for Saskatoon’s economic future. “As a small business owner, I understand how vital it is to have a mayor who champions a strong local economy, and Cynthia’s commitment to making Saskatoon a safer, more affordable place to live speaks volumes about her priorities,” said Executive Chef and Restaurant Owner Christie Peters. “She recognizes the importance of vibrant communities and understands what it takes for businesses like mine to thrive.”

As I run for mayor, I want to recognize that we are on Treaty 6 Territory, the traditional land of the Cree, Saulteaux, Dene, Dakota, Lakota, Nakota, and the Métis Nation.

Living and working here is a privilege, and I acknowledge the deep history and contributions of the Indigenous peoples who have cared for this land long before it became Saskatoon.

In my campaign and beyond, I’m committed to respecting our shared history and working together to build a city where everyone’s voice matters.
